can your mouse do this

Sounds and looks smart from the video. Nice choice of amp too. I'm still using my 7 year old Yamaha DSP-AX620, what model reciever do you have?

Good idea using a car sub in the house. How are you supplying power to the amp? I think I might have to build myself a custom subwoofer setup for this room. These B&W's are great, but I need more bass :(

the htr-5640, bought it off my uncle, he is forever upgrading his home cinema/enterntainment system.

the amp is being powerd by a ****** regulated psu. it cant put out enough oomhp when the bass hits low. had the yamaha at -35db and the car amp was pullin too much juice from the psu and caused the car amp to go into protection mode, not good for either amp or psu.

the specs on the psu are

13.8v 7a continuous
13.8v 10a 50% duty cycle
13.8v 12a surge

the fuse in the car amp is 30amp  should really match the psu output to the amp fuse

Sweet, I'm trying to decide whether to upgrade to another AV reciever or to get a stereo amp and use the Yamaha for surround duties.

This 620 is on every day, it gets played hard and yet it never skips a beat. I love it.

7a continuous  I've got a JBL 601.1 in my car and even when I first got the sub and amp, I had them whacked up and didn't blow the 30amp fuse in my power cable (ahh, good old 10 gauge, thankfully now replaced by 2 gauge with a 150amp fuse).

You've really got me interested in rigging my car stuff upto my Antec PSU in the pc :o

sod that, chemical brothers - under the influence :p

I used to have a big subwoofer which could produce effects like this, and stuff falling off shelves, and wall fixings violently rattling, etc.. It was fun, but if I did that nowadays i'd have my ass kicked into next week.

Ohhh yeah. I know someone who has a car install set up in his room... he even has the headunit mounted in his desk!

He's running 2 JBL 75.4's with 2 car batteries and a heavy duty car charger, lol.

No offence taken, glad you were actually able to put a name to the songs instead of thinking "Damn dance music". I'm probably like you, I can listen to pretty much anything... apart from Slipknot that is.

If we're going to start on about making walls vibrate, one time when I had the house to myself (few years ago), I had my Yamaha amp, some Mission 702e floorstanders and an Eltax 10" sub.

Our next door neighbours were the so inconsiderate, blaring the TV at all hours, so I got a dining room chair, positioned the sub so that it was firing straight into the wall and cranked that be'atch with just the sub output turned on. I'm such a ******* :D

I have that Pioneer sub in my car running off a JBL 75.4.

When I upgrade my car I'll be upgrading the sounds so I'm gonna move my car stuff into the house and run it off a spare PSU. Should be fun. How did you make your box, I could do with making my own for the car.

the box is made out of 18mm mdf, screwed, glued, and edges are sealed off with white bathroom sealent. sparyed it with grey undercoat and a matt black finish.

ill be taking it ou tof the house and putting it back in my car, i have 2 of the pioneers, just need to make a new box and get 2 new amps
