Greetings!

Always liked photography but have been too tight to get a decent camera, had just a Sony W5 for a few years but purchased a Canon 400D a few days ago, and judging by some topics it seems a lot of people have bought this recently!

Still getting to grips with it but seems like a very nice, very capable camera for the money.

In the meantime I've been going through some photos I took whilst in Canada earlier this year, they haven't turned out amazingly well because of the camera but am quite proud of them nonetheless, so thought I'd stick them up here, whilst using some tips from here to make them a little more professional (borders!)

last one's my fave! it looks somewhat surreal.

whereabouts in canada were you? i love canada!

I stayed in a small town called Canmore, just over the border of Banff national park, everywhere was just so picturesque, after the trip I was so sick of mountains (partly my fault of photographing every single one seemingly) but now I can't wait to go back!

i think there are some nice pics there! Have fun with the 400D camera - its a verycapable camera.

lovely photos, I love Canada too. Stayed in Calgary and went to Lake Louise a few times to snowboard. Going back there next Easter so hope to take some photos as good as these.
No doubt you will love the 400D and the photos will get even better.

I think canada is one of these places where you can take a picture of anything and it'll look great, like Switzerland.

Fantastic photos :) Although i think the first one looks a bit...dull? Could try and brighten it up a bit and bring out the blues and greens more in photoshop.

Yeah I see what you mean, was taken from a Helicopter so the distance and window didn't help! However using my rudimentary photoshop skills I've coloured it up a little:

I think it looks better, would like a second opinion though!

Nice photos. Canmores pretty nice, I live a few hours from there (well about 6). Did you get to go climbing at all???? There's a really perfect section near there called grassi lakes, it used to be a coral reef so it's full of interesting features.

Spaz that edit is so much better.

I was going to post yesterday that they all look a bit washed out and a few tweaks in Photoshop would sort then out a treat. I had planned to do one myself to show you but you've beaten me to it. :D

Now do it to all the others and you will have an even more stunning set. :p
