Canadian Grand Prix 2011, Circuit Gilles Villeneuve - Race 7/19

Last year, Ferrari and McLaren were strong on this track. It looks like things are repeating.

I still expect RBR to step it up during qualifying, so expect to see an RBR on the front row, but their race pace is no longer as far ahead of the chasing pack as it was in the first few races of the season.

In the last race, we saw Vettel being hounded and only survived (maybe), because of the red flag. One thing which Vettel has on his side this year is luck - he is so lucky this year. And to win a title/race, you need luck on your side.

Interestingly, there's no mention of Vettels crash in the practice highlights :/

Coulthard doing the editing it seems.

According to BBC, Button didn't have DRS during FP1 and Hamilton had no steering-wheel functions (apart from obviously steering). When you consider that it's no wonder they weren't at the top and to be honest, it's pretty impressive that they got 5th and 6th.

sunama, I still think you're overlooking the effects of the track when you discuss DRS and you haven't responded to my initial comment on the subject.

The steering wheel display will not have had any impact really. As was said in the commentary the drivers hear beeps in their ear piece when it's time to change gear.

i reckon mclaren have a chance at pole today, even tho rbr are so good with the drs, there are no corners they can use to maximise their car and get on the drs so much earlier. they are all slow corners so i cant see them having the usual advantage.

hamilton does so well here, 3 poles in 3 races and 2 wins. it will be close between him and vettel.

predict :

Interesting comments from Ted about the Red Bull KERS only providing 40kW vs the allowed 60kW in order to have a smaller, lighter, cooler system and allow them to compromise the rest of the car to a lesser degree.

If Coulthard was doing it he would've probably emphasised that Vettel had hit "champions wall" and banged on about how it's the sign of a true champion. :p
