Ruining the race shouldn't be a criteria. For me, it was clearly dangerous re-entry but I tend towards not penalising it.

It's the correct decision, but I would rather it was no penalty to uphold the great racing...

How so? It prevented Ham from overtaking him due to Vettel's mistake.

It would be unfair if vettel won this race by creating a mistake and preventing Ham from overtaking

Yes he was sliding but that's because he was more concerned with staying ahead of Lewis than re-entering safely.
