Hi guys, basically i've had no service on my phone all day so rang Orange earlier to find out my contract has been terminated which was surprising as i still have 24months remaining and haven't been in touch with them. Guy on the phone didn't have a clue what was going on and i am currently waiting (2 hours and counting) for a call back.
The only thing i am thinking is they cancelled 2 years early by accident. According to the letter when i upgraded termination date would be 07/05/2014, funnily enough today is 07/05/2012.
How likely would it that if they phone back saying it was cancelled by mistake that i could hold them to keeping it cancelled? i.e. refusing to sign a new contract after all this was their mistake. I would likely have to change number as the contract has been cancelled (reason for upgrading was to keep my number) and i have also been without service for approaching 24hours. I wouldn't be too fussed about having to return the handset as i am not using it nearly as much as i thought i would.
Anyone have any similar experiences/outcomes?
