Hi
My 12 month contract with Orange ended at the beginning of January, but I haven't had a chance to upgrade/switch provider until now. As I get really poor signal in the area where I live, particularly at home, I'd like to switch to O2 as I know that they have a good signal in my area. However, I've never had to cancel a contract before, and would like some advice on what would be the best procedure for switching to O2 (in case I bodge it up
). Is it:
1) Phone Orange and obtain a PAC number from them.
2) Order new phone/SIM from O2 and provide them with the PAC number, then wait for them to transfer my existing number.
Do I need to write to Orange to cancel, or will telling them that I wish to leave when I ask for the PAC suffice? Will the contract with Orange stop immediately, or will it be cancelled in 30 days time (I think I've read that somewhere)?
Many thanks.
