So I am currently on an 18 month contract with orange. 500 mins, 500 texts. my first bill was dated the 24th of August 2006. I have never used anywhere near 500 minutes or 500 texts a month. Since August 07 I have only sent about 1000 texts. So I want to cancel the contract as soon as the 18 months is up, which I think should be next month. I assume I just phone up to do this? Just gonna go on pay as you go cos quite frankly I do not use my phone anywhere near enought to warrant a contract i wouldnt think. If I phone up to cancel will i be able to transfer onto pay as you go with the same sim and number or will i have to mess around with PAC codes and changing sims etc. I don't mind if the PAYG is on orange or whoever really. Just whatever is least inconvenient. and cheapest lol.

Advice?

Ring 150, option 4 to cancel your contract (giving 30 days notice).

You may keep the same number, without a PAC, just inform the phone advisor you wish to do that and they will send you a PAYG SIM out with which you can transfer your number across to free of charge.
