Hi all,
A few weeks ago I posted about having had an operation to remove my cancerous prostate using the Da Vinci robot.
Well yesterday I met with my consultant who explained that everything is going very well and that the operation was a complete success!
My PSA level (used as a indicator for Prostate Cancer) was initially at 3.0 ng.mL and now it is below 0.01 ng/mL. I say below this because currently they cannot measure PSA below this level.
Anyway in a nutshell I require no more treatment, apart from regular PSA tests over the coming years. My consultant believes at the moment that there is a very good chance (99.9%) that they got the entire tumour and therefore I am cancer free. However officially they cannot state this until 5 years of PSA results have been gathered.
All told, it's good news all round
I would just like to publically thank my Wife who has been to hell and back throughout the past year dealing with my illness. She has been my rock and I love her so much.

And don't forget guys, Prostate Cancer can kill you so make sure you ask for a PSA test in the near future.
