Like I keep saying I bet there is a lot of people on these very forums who has wasted a lot of money on bits they purchased and flogged in the same month or what not.
I also think technology has a lot of people in debt but I won't go into that discussion.

Seriously Its not like I went about to take the mickey.. Not at all.
I was being as nice as I could, I was trying my hardest to help him and advise him, but he was painfully arrogant about what he thought was the right thing. He was genuinely going against my advise simply because he had seriously bad advise.
Also he does not come onto here and I am not going to show him this thread either.
He has realised how much of a pillock he is. I have given him an old AMD x2 3800 & Mobo so at least he is half way home now... I also gave him an X1800 so he can play some games at a not a bad rate.
Still does not distract from the plain fact that he is a tool.
We all done things on some level of stupid that we would rather forget about...
I once had an Athlon slot 600 and I swapped board and CPU for a Celeron 800 & Mobo only to find it disgustingly slower before I had even finished installing Windows 98
The next day after trying to get it to do half of what the Athlon did, and failing, I took it back and asked for my Athlon 600 back. They sold it to me for £40.
They saw me coming a mile off!

please tell me that over a ton means over £100, and not over £1000, because he certainly would be a candidate for idiot of the year if he did and couldnt sell it on for a similar price

The thing is that he paidI think it was £140 in total, for a Socket 478 Motherboard and a 3Ghz Pentium 4 HT and the Ram.
