Trying to set up a web server using Apache (2.2) so it can be accessed using a domain (which has already been bought).

I have set the DNS at the domain (123reg) to the WAN IP address, and forwarded port 80 to the local IP address where the server is running.

(I've got Apache listening on port 80 by the way).

If I try to access the WAN IP, it brings up the router's settings page. I have also tried adding ':80' to the end of the address, but that too brings up the same router page.

Where am I going wrong?

It's already disabled.
Ok, so I can access the site by using the WAN IP address from outside the local network (turns out the router doesn't allow for NAT loopback, nor does it allow it to be configured), however, using the domain name (eg test.com) times out.

How long does it take (roughly) for the DNS settings to propogate?

i think it can take 72 hours for it to take full effect. might be wrong though just that number rings some bells
