Cannot Connect to my network on my PDA

I got my new Dell x51v today and for some reason cannot conect to my wireless router, I have an 802.11g network which is deffintatly broadcasting SSID as my main pc connects to the router no probs, When i look for wireless networks it only find another one in my black of flats and won't find my one even though i am right next to it, Anyone got any idea's as i can't fugure it out.

is the ssid long or have funny characters in? How about adding the network in manually?

No the SSID is 8 letters long and no numbers or other stuff in it, Also i tried adding it manually and it just kept saying that it was connecting.
