Hey guys having major problems with my PC just now :(
After al lprograms failed to run, basically nothing would only windows would load up I assumed a standard format to correct things! However this didn't sort it out at all as after the format it tried to add the setup files required for install and it kept coming up with files not being able to be copied to the disc, none in particular! This would cause the setup to fail completely
So.....tried another hard drive.....same thing yet again!

Its not the windows disc as I have tried my mates one as well just to double check but stil lthe same problem!

Could this be a motherboard controller problem?

PC Spec

amd athlon 3800+xp
AS Rock Dual Sata II Mobo
2gig DDR ram
geforce 7600gt
250gig or 160gig sata drives
dvd-rw drive
dvd drive
580w Hiper Type R psu

CD/DVD-ROM, Mobo, RAM, CPU

All could be to be blame. You need to start ruling each one out in order to find the culprit. Test the CPU, RAM and CD/DVD-ROM independantly in another machine known to be working perfectly. If they all pass then it is your mobo.

Only thing i havent tested is the CPU! As i said all of a sudden nothing would work, my hard drive was also split into two sections...
When i tried to copy stuff to the other one the system would automatically restart as it tried to access the HDD! Thatw as why I tried the format and also a second HDD! both have the same problems, there just seems to be some sort of non communication when transferring the setup files to the HDD :( annoying really!

I dont have access to another socket 939 system or mobo so I'm gonna have to take it to the local shop to see if they can confirm its the mobo for me or the cpu....hopefully not that though
