I was just syncing a folder to an external drive but the operation failed with a message along the lines of "cannot delete file, cannot read from source device".
I have found the file. It is a 0 byte file with an odd name on its own in a folder. I cannot delete it with any method so far.
Any suggestions short of formatting the drive?
thanks

Sometimes using the cmd prompt from Start>Run works. Some stubborn files in Windows just can't resist the cmd prompt when I want to delete something.
