cannot delete files on mp3 player

i have my mp3 player connected to my pc in work and i want to delete some files inside one of my folders.. I get the following message

"Cannot delete <filename>. the filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect."

What the heck is going on?? Also when I click on the parent directory it is showing the folder size as 1TB!! It is only a 20Gb player!

Anyone got any ideas?

format the drive and start again. just copy the music back over from your pc when done. check the manual for info about formatting. on mine i have to use fat32 as the file system- just something that needs checking....
