cannot enable eax 4 HD no suitable hardware found (Doom 3 & Quake 4)

Platform - WindowsXP Pro 32BIT

Soundcard - X-Fi Music Extreme


When I try to enable EAX 4 HD in Doom 3 (updated to version 1.3) I get the following message, "cannot enable eax no suitable hardware found", I am running my console in entertainment mode with EAX enabled, I have the latetest drivers installed using the creativelabs auto detect and update feature, I have tried uninstalling the drivers and reinstalling them but still the problem remains, I also have the same problem with Quake 4, the HD audio selector is greyed out and at the bottom of the screen it says "your soundcard is not openAL compatible, I've checked and I do have openAL installed,

if anyone could help I would really be gratefull,

That's your problem. Stick it in Game mode

strange , why on earth does'nt it support it in entertainment mode, it has EAX options there, oh well it works now anyway, thanks mate.
