Cannot install office 2k3 when mydocs is piped to a server

can anybody help

keep getting a stupid 1325 short name error

trying to install outlook 2003 onto a pc on the network,

We are mapping direclty mydocs to a users area on a server so its

\\domain\bob.smith\userdata\mydocs or something like that

and MS will not let me install

tried changing the tmp and temp variables but that does not help

any ideas

Um, only quick thing I can think of suggesting would be to restore the My Documents path to it's default, then run through the install and restore the patch to my documents?

can you not map the share to a drive letter. job done?

using the drive letter of share that your mapping do should work.
