I am on the Windows 7 RC and cannot choose what network to connect to. When I click the network icon in the taskbar it just says "Currently connected to Network" Is this normal for RC? I am connected straight to the router if that helps.

Thanks :)

I just want to be able to disconnect from my network, see what networks are avaliable etc. I dont even know what network Im connected to. It just decides for me what I will connect to. Maybe its to do with my router, but it wasnt this way on Vista.

So the option to 'Connect to a network' is not listed? I am going to ask a daft question but is your system wireless equipped and is it switched on?

Nope, the only option it gives me is open network and sharing centre. The router is on, and my PC is on :p. I am typing from my PC connected to my router.

What does wireless enabled mean? It has always been connected to router so its not been wireless in years. If it wanted to be wireless, it can.

Had a similar discussion with a friend to explain why a wireless ready laptop couldn't connect to the internet with no modem or router or broadband dongle

Glad you've figured out what it is, if you do want to browse local wireless networks for the fun of it then you could pick up a cheap PCI or USB card for that but not much point really...
