Just ordered a 4850 + Akasa Neo for mine and missuses rigs to replace my aged 7600GT, i cannot wait to see how it runs.

Been holding off installing COD4, GRAW + GRID until i get a decent card.

With my rig in sig what res should i be able to play COD4 maxed out at please.?

I must admit I've never understood why people buy games, and then don't install them, waiting instead for new hardware. If it is a week or so, fair enough. But some people buy them at release and then sit on them for a month. I mean why? PC games can easily drop a third in price a month after release.

I brought them with the intention of spurring me on to by a newer gfx card a bit quicker but unfortunately didnt have the cash at the time :(

What resolution do you game at?. I play at 1600x1200 on my GTX and it's smooth as butter, everything set best settings with 4xAA.

Well due to me only having a lowly 7600GT i've been playing at 1280x1024 but i have a Sony Trinitron 22" screen that does ridiculous resolutions so maybe 1600 x 1200.?

Is there any point playing at higher resolutions than that.?

You are absolutely fine and Call of Duty 4 will fly, as will Grid and any other game lol.

My GTX plays all of those games very well and your card is faster. I've had a 7600GT OC and trust me, you will enjoy the jump up in power. Blown away hehe ;).

Edit: Same CPU speed. Near same RAM and the reviews all show the 4850 beating the 8800GTX :).

That's one hell of an upgrade, your gonna be loving it!

Make sure you max out the resolution of that screen. It's CRT I take it? Wonder how high it can go?

Its a crt yes and it goes to 2048 x 1536

Cool, I bet you will be able to run most games in that resolution smoothly too!

(Edit) Maybe not with max setting on the newer stuff though? Will be interesting to hear how you get on...
