Canon 760D, Yea or Nay

I've stuck to Sandisk as far as my SD cards but tried a Lexar CF when I got my 7d2. Both are pretty well regarded so you just need to make sure you get legit cards (avoid Ebay and unknown market sellers on that rainforest site).

No point skimping on price here since you don't want cards dying on you or corrupting files etc.

Yes I get that, I meant in terms of the various ultras, extreme, etc type 'models' these brands have for their different speed ones. Which one/s would be best in terms of speed to cost.

I started with a 650d and forgot to order a card at the time so when the camera arrived, I just popped to Tesco and bought the first thing I could find that was the bare minimum (class 10).

The class 10 recommendation is a pretty low bar tbh and I wanted to try something faster and bought a 32GB Sandisk Extreme Pro (95MB/s) and that definitely helped the buffer clear quicker.

It was probably overkill for the 650d but they're not massively expensive and it was fairly futureproof as a result :) I still use it on my 7d2.

I haven't looked for any 760d specific results but here are some speed tests done on a 70d

Thanks for that, think the sandisk extreme(60mb/s) one 32gb from tesco for £13(was £10 at one point) might be the best bet. The rainforest has it for a few quid more.

Aye the midrange ones are pretty good value :) the faster ones also help you copy images off for processing quicker if you've got USB3 ports and a USB3 reader but that's not exactly critical :)

I guess it might be worth waiting for the reviews of the 750/760 to see what this new sensor etc. is capable of. Being that I mostly love landscapes the 70d wouldn't really offer me much over the 750 or 760, but it would probably be better for Sports, is that pretty accurate? I'd say most of my shooting would be 80/20 or 90/10 Landscape to Sports though...

Yeah there wouldn't be much point in upgrading to anything other than a 6d for landscapes.

New lenses would probably be more beneficial

I bought the Canon 10-18mm in February but haven't had much chance to play with it yet. I guess the benefit you're talking about for the 6D and landscapes is by virtue of the fact that it's a FF DSLR?

Yeah a good FF sensor a half decent widish prime would be nice for landscapes :)

That being said, if you've just got that 10-18mm then you might as well just make the most of it for now. Sounds like you're fine for landscapes but you could try some filters to enhance what you're doing.

A better camera would definitely help out for your other types of photography but it doesn't take much to get some decent landscape shots :)

Only the M3 I believe.

Once of the biggest differences between the 760D and 70D will be the physical size. Not sure if you're aware of the difference but it might be worth trying to get your hands on each (or a similar body from each series) to get an idea of the sizes. Many people find the xxxD series bodies too small to hold comfortably.

I've got big hands and find the grip of my 700D fine, I would probably get a battery grip for it to add some more weight/obvious batteries etc. and make it even more comfortable to hold but get on fine without.

That said I'm waiting on the reviews for the 760D before making a decision as to whether to keep my 700 or go for the 760D/70D, or maybe 7Dmk2 :p

I see there are a few imports on the bay for the 760D, itching to find out what its like and read the reviews when they're out. I'm thinking of upgrading from my 750D for a better AF system primarily. There are quite a few other decent upgrades as well.

I still haven't decided, have come close a few times to preordering on jessops with their 12months interest free and no deposit.

What is the actual release date? All I know is april, and we're coming to the end of the month.
Look like I left it too late to grab the 32gb extreme 60mb/s from tesco as they've gone up to £20 from £13, I've meaning to grab a couple but never got around to it and kept putting it off.

Come on 'new' sensor and high ISO noise reduction (he says with his fingers crossed).

Not in the market at the moment but I would find it very difficult to decide which camera to buy! So many choices.

There seems to be only one place left under 20! Hence I've just ordered 1 as it makes sense that it may not be that price for long!
