If you guys every go to Hong Kong, pay this place a visit, it is at TST (exit H - iSquare, 20th floor). Nikon and Sony has their own too but i didn't go there.

Basically Canon has an office there, on one side it is the Repair Centre, it's all very futuristic, you can get your camera repaired etc.

The otherside is just camera porn. They have on display (and you can play with), every production DSLR body, from the cheapest to the top 1DX. They also have every lens currently in production except the 1200mm. You can try out all the lenses in any of the bodies. You can put in your own memory cards in their bodies to test out the lenses. You can't however put their lenses on your bodies.

They also have all the consumer P&S, printers, tech info, web cams etc, all sorts of Canon products, all plugged in allow you to play with.

In the distance in the centre of the photo is the display where all the lenses are kept.

You can ask to try out any of the lenses behind here.

Please tell me you spent more than 30 minutes in there  I would have been there for hours :)

Nice shots, some exotic lenses there, especially the 400mm DO and the 200 f/2.0.

Hi Raymond, What is the Green ring around the 400mm ? lens ?, I'm familiar with the Red ring L series but not the green.

Regards Simon

Its diffraction optics, special ens elements that can make for much smaller lenses. But very expensive to produce and there other issues relating to sharpness and aberrations.

I only had 30 mins (I was with 3 other people), I could spend days in there testing out all the lenses and bodies.

I am sure to go back next time! :D

Pure technical curiosity: with the 17mm shot of the whole EF case, would the lens tilt far enough to be able to align the focal plane precisely parallel to the long side of the case, without changing shooting position (allowing time to get it all matched up, and maybe a tripod for fixing the position, etc.)?

I guess the second picture may answer my question, since the tilt looks like it's a sharper angle... Is it possible to go even further, fully perpendicular to the sensor?
