Canon D60

I have been offered a canon EOS D60 for £150 and i was wondering if this is a good price or not? The camera looks to be pretty old and i don't know much about DSLR's but its in mint condition and comes with the stock lense, 1gb flash card and 2 spare batteries.

Should i move to this from my A85?

Excellent, so will i be able to buy new lenses for it (obv canon compatible ones) or have they changed the fitting since then?

Just need to make sure i know what im getting in to.

I've asked him to take a pic of a white piece of paper/wall to check the sensor, is that right?

Lol... most of that went straight over my head.

Don't suppose you know of a useful website which will give me a nice and simple explanation of all of what you just said?

Also what should i be looking to get as obviously xmas is coming up so i'll ask for a new lense so budget maybe around £100/150?

Do i have to get a specific macro lense to do macro shots?

Arrived this morning, looks very good but it's gonna take me a while to get used to all the features on it.

One question i do have though is this camera seems to be running on Beta firmware (2.3.1 to be exact) and i was wondering if this is a good idea?

I think i might have to stick it on a proper release, i'm finding the camera really unstable when i try and shoot multiple succession it just crashes out and i have to remove the battery to un-freeze it.

Also where would i be able to get a pc cable for it, local camera shop?

Interestingly it turns out that my d60 is using d30 firmware (according to exif info) :/
