There are different levels of "professional" though if you think about it.
A professional wedding photographer may well opt for a third-party lens over a Canon. Whilst CPS membership can be a benefit in getting Canon lenses turned around quickly, I think that the price/performance factor is often more important as most are working to a budget of some sort.
The "high level" pros though, the kind who work for the agencies at big sporting events, are far more likely to stick with Canon as, in their case, CPS are usually in attendance providing on-site support and backup with loan equipment available and so forth.
