Canon unvail sucessor to the 20D

I must admit I was expecting more, looks nice though and i wonder if there are any changes over the 20D that they havnt mentioned ...better auto focus would be nice.

The 30D is a good evolution upgrade from the 20D; ISO in the viewfinder, spot metering and a larger LCD are all things requested after the 20D.

Not enough to make me consider an upgrade from the 20D. Only thing which would be nice to have is the spot meter, don't really care about the rest.

It isnt enough for any 20D user to consier if he was upgrading (replacing yes)

The large LCD is great, ISO notice, Spot metering, Improved body, soft push buttons.

Personally I wouldnt choose this over the 5D. I guess they are aimed at different people but me personally would pay the extra for a 5D.

It sure looks tempting but it'll cost around £800 and for that money I would rather have a 24-70L F2.8.

I suppose so, the build quality of EF-S so far hasn't been up to that of L.

However a 24-70 isn't going to be very wide on a 1.6 and no IS. Its a tough choice to make.

I'll definately be making the switch from 20D to 30D myself. spot metering and larger lcd make the sale for me. I got my 20D for a great price so the change isnt going to cost me very much.

wonder when they will be on the market?

A little disappoiting really, think a Jump in MP's would have been really nice.. I mean a lot of people look at the MP's a a main consideration (whether right or wrong), still in the 8MP range is a mistake I think and wont entice people to upgrade.

Yay, time to buy a 20D :D

Spot on Mr Beansprout. :D

And for those who can't wait, you CAN find the EOS 30d available to pre-order with an 18-55mm lens of some description, for a (not so)measly £1179.99.

I think I'll wait for a bit.
