Canon unvail sucessor to the 20D

And for those who can't wait, you CAN find the EOS 30d available to pre-order with an 18-55mm lens of some description, for a (not so)measly £1179.99.
To be honest I wouldn't buy a 30D and fit it with a 18-55, save the £100 and put it towards a 17-40L

You need to hold a SLR that features a 2.5" screen, That alone could sell one, The difference is quite mindblowing.. Sure its no Epson P2000 screen but to have that handy is a great asset. Also the body on the 30d + 5d is a huge improvement on the 20d's.. I know this having thought mine was good but I held my 20d in one hand and the 5d (alike the 30D) in the other hand and its remarkably better.. Also the softer buttons make shots easiler to reduce camera shake..Theres no click as such. Just one push all the way down (and its super smoooooth)

Hold your horses to folks, Canon have some more suprises up their sleeves methinks.

I'll definately be upgrading to a 20D body now...then it's a 100-300L :)

Is that so you can participate in some serious 'chimping'? :p ;)

You're a keen photgrapher and you dont know what chimping is?

Hang on while i find the video!

Edit: http://www.sportsshooter.com/special_feature/chimping/index.html

Also defn here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chimping

lol at the wikipedia definition!

I don't think that anyone can deny that the LCD screen is useful for checking you have got the shot that you wanted. However, I avoid looking at shots immediately after taking them for fear of missing the next shot. I only tend to review photos once I have taken a large-ish batch

chimping may be a **** take but the histogram is the single most useful tool a digital photographer can have imo....if you understand how to use it its priceless....

true, but I think chimping is more of a p take of those pros and wanabees who ooh and ah over the photo when they should be looking for the next shot. Motorsports is a good example where you need to be looking for the next shot and where it's actually dangerous to take your eyes off the track. Who know's when a car may come bouncing and sliding towards you? :D

Checking the histogram is not chimping, but there is a time and a place for it I think. I do wonder how all those old luddites who shot film ever got a good balanced exposure before histograms. ;)

Anyway... Way off topic!! :D

Still think Beansprout is the man with the plan. Second hand 20D please!

If you import it and get hit for import tax and VAT it would be about £840. You would also have delivery on top of that bringing it very close to the same price it is here. Obviously you could get lucky :)
