Please can anyone offer any support/tips/hints:

I've just bought a new PC with a 250gb SSD and 4TB HDD, installed Window 10 Pro via USB on the SSD but when I look at the disk management tool, it will only let me use 2TB.

I've tried using DISKPART to clean the drive and then convert but I get the following error messages:

CLEAN: Clean is not allowed on the disk containing the current boot, system, pagefile, crashdump or hiberntion volume

CONVERT GPT: The specified disk is not convertible. CDROMs and DVDs are examples of disks that are not convertible.

I've only installed OS and Antivirus on the PC so far, not wanting to have to repeat my work if anything has to be wiped. To be clear: there are zero files on the HDD so I'm happy to wipe it to oblivion if I can then get full access to its storage.

I've looked at resources on the web but they all want me to pay for premium disk management software - surely this should be standard?

Sounds like Win10 has created a system partition on the HDD.

Best way to install is to leave only the boot HDD/SSD in the system until Win10 is installed.

You may need to do the install again with the HDD removed and removing it now will probably make the system fail to boot.

+1, I always just unplug my 3TB hard drive when re-installing Windows, this has happened to me once before, it will never happen again.

Thanks for the suggestions - I've managed to find a tool to extend the new drive from MBR to GPT, then did a clean install to the SSD which has now worked.....
