Hi All

Ive got a Virgin Media Super hub in my room where the internet comes in. Downstairs i put our old wifi router connected to the Superhub to use as a wifi extender basically and also to connect the Xbox downstairs on. The router is a Belkin N+ (F5D8235-4 v1) which has a USB port for storage so i wanted to plug my external drive into that. However i cant remember what the IP address of the router is and obviously when i type 192.168.0.1 i get the superhub page. Any ideas on what im doing wrong :S

Ive seen that the Belkin IP should be 192.168.2.1 but that doesnt work. Also the internet and modem light are flashing orange on the Belkin. If your using it as an extender i assume you still plug the ethernet cable into the modem port? The other ports are all out rather than in.

You'll need to configure them so they're on the same subnet.

To access the Belkin and change its settings you could temporarily assign yourself a static 192.168.2.n IP address.

OK, so do i do that on the Superhub settings?

To configure the devices seperatly, you'll need to change your PC's NIC to the same subnet as each device, log on to the router for that subnet and change its LAN configuration.

Alternatively, access the superhub, disable DHCP and change it's LAN IP to a 192.168.2.0/24 address that's not currently in use and refresh your DHCP lease.

You should get a new IP address from the Belkin device and be able to access both.

Make sure you clean up DHCP pools afterwards!

Im not sure really what im doing but i managed to access the belkin directly with a lan cable on the laptop. Change the LAN IP to 192.168.0.101 (couldnt be between 1-100 due to the DHCP pool). However plugged back into the superhub and cant access 192.168.0.101
Do i need to turn of DHCP off on the belkin?

Turn DHCP off on the Belkin
Put it on the same subnet as the Superhub
Run a cable from the superhub LAN port to a LAN port on the Belkin

Sorted!

Now i need to figure how you access the External drive plugged into the USB on the Belkin.....
