My current spec:

3700+ (@ 2.2)
x800GTO
1.5Gig of RAM

My gaming needs are:

CounterStrike Source
Battlefield 2

I would like to be able to play most new games/newish at decent levels so I was just wondering what you thought would best suit me.

I'm not sure what to get can you help?

the X1900XT is the fastest if thats worth anything, plus it has the largest amount of onboard memory as well, although most costly

If you're running 2x 1280x1024 then I would go for the X1900XT. :) I just got one, amazing card and definitely offers a big enough performance increase over the X1800XT it's replaced. Overclocked to XT-X speeds without a sweat too.

Even though I had an X1800XT previously, I think the X1900XT is well worth the extra outlay. If you're driving two screens on it, you'll be extra thankful.

Get the X1900XT! Top card and from Ulfhedjinn experiences he has had in the passed couple of days i would go for that. If you could though go for the X1900XT-X like me :p When i was upgrading i was only looking at a 7600GT.

Whats with everyone saying Duel now instead of Dual? Is Dual wrong?

You Grammar Nazi!

Its:
Dual = 2 things (etc)
Duel = a fight (etc)

(btw I failed English GCSE :p - retook this year, didnt bother getting the results though - may have passed this time :))

The x1900XTX is definatley out of my budget. I was just wondering if, for the games I play and what I will eventually be playing (Crysis, Prey etc) is it worth spending the extra £80 to get the x1900XT?

Thanks for the input guys. I'm still not sure :confused:

I hate to sound like a broken record, but the X1900XT is already worth the extra outlay in my opinion. It's daylight robbery at only around £200.

You'll be thanking me for suggesting it when you get Crysis too, as I have no doubt the massive number of shaders it has will make it pull far ahead. ;)

Will there be a big difference? :)

Also, I'm only running games on one of my monitors (1280x1024) the dual screens is just for my web development/graphics work.

For the original games CSS and BF2 an x1800xt would be more than enough at that res but since you said that you'll be looking to play crysis and prey that I'd go for the x1900xt. The extra power will help a lot in the newer games.

Why would having dual screens make any difference to a single screen, you can only game on the one screen can't you?
I'm not entirely sure, my luck with dual-display has been pitiful (even if only using one for desktop.) The guy said he needs 2x 1280x960 though and an X1900XT would cope much easier than an X1800XT for that.

Not to mention Oblivion. It's so much smoother on my X1900XT compared to the X1800XT I had.

When's best to order the x1900XT from OcUK? Should I order it now and it will be processed tomorrow or should I just order it tomorrow morning?
