Can't click Windows Start Button Windows 10

I can't click the Windows start button or right click anything on my taskbar. I've googled it and tried all the sfc/ scannow poweshell thing and I still can't get it to work. Also my task manager will not open, its just blank and says not responding!!

Any Ideas Chaps??

Are you on a domain that employs AppLocker?

We noticed that while testing W10 on our domain with our current W8.1 AppLocker rules that the start menu and a few other "apps" didn't work.

It seems that most of the UI on W10 is classed as a packaged metro-style app which all need adding to AppLocker's GPO. Take particular care when setting version numbers for these as while some state as an example 10.43.123.65 they are in fact 0.0.0.1

Might be a known issue with windows 10 and Dropbox:

Try uninstalling Dropbox and reinstalling?

I assume this is the issue where it also asks you to log out to fix something about your profile?

Does creating a new user profile fix this?

If not, the easiest solution is a re-install. Backup what you have and then format and re-install windows.
