Hey,
I bought myself an orange san francisco the other day as i used to have a blackberry 8520 on contract. So i brought the phone home and flashed it to a custom ROM (Bladevillian).
I rang Orange and told them to change my blackberry internet on my contract to the bog standard 500mb limit one so i could use it on the San Fran.
The next day it seems that i am having connection troubles as the phone will connect and disconnect when it wants. Sometimes the market works and others just loads forever. When i go into settings it says the network connection as "network failed".
Is this a problem with the custom rom or should i ring orange support and be a sim problem etc?

Why dont you flash it back to the ROM it came with, if you can and see if you still have that issue...because Orange wont want to know if you have flashed it with a non factory ROM as it most likely will void your warranty.

I had this recently on my wifes' legend. After being given instructions by VF helpline (which didn't work) I deleted the APN details and then re-entered them manually and saved it as a new APN. Might be worth trying that.

Android APN and Data Settings for Orange UK

1. I have put the settings below however if you find that they are not working , then just dial 156 to get to the support team for settings-(and let me know via comment so I can update this post)
2. Go to settings -> wireless controls
3. Go to Mobile Networks -> Access Point Names
4. Make sure you select and delete each APN on the list.
5. Click Menu and select New APN
6. Use the following settings:
1. Name = Orange Internet
2. APN = orangeinternet (case sensitive)
3. MCC:234
4. MNC:33
5. APN Type: default
6. Ignore everything else and leave it as <Not set>
7. Then press menu and save and then turn off the phone and restart and you are done!
7. Market should be working, email working and your browser is now working!

You likely need to add a second APN before it will let you delete the other. That or disable data first. You should try getting market working via wifi first to confirm it's not a phone issue.
