hello people, :) a few questions i need answering.

first, i need some help picking a new motherboard.

preferances are:

good board for overclocking.
doesn't need to be SLI.
must have at least 6 SATA slots.
i've had a few asus boards in my time so asus would be nice.
good price/best quality is what i'm lookin for.

secondly, which cpu should i go for out of these two?

i don't use my pc for multiple tasks just gaming so i'm unsure whether to go for the quad or the duo.

3ghz standard on the duo is a plus but four cores sounds sweet.

finally,

which memory out of these two? or is their anything better for the same or cheaper price?

cheers in advance, any reply will be well appreciated :)

6850 would suit u better then would say. would go for a p35 mobo, this will suit this chip :) asus gigabyte & abit have some really good ones. it's picking what u need from there models, raid, extra sata, extra cooling ect. they have all proved great boards from there p35 models.

on the ram, dont know much about the 2x2gb (if running xp Forget 2x2gb)
if you are not going to overclock suppose any of them would do great job:)

cheers. :)
i like asus boards but i was looking at this gigabyte mobo: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-088-GI

what ya reckon?

if their's an asus equivalent or better, for similar money can somebody point me in the right direction? :)
and again can anybody give me some advice on the memory.
i'm running vista ultimate 64 with 4 gig atm so 2x2gb is the way i'm looking to go

Presumably you picked that because of the ICH9R southbridge?
Asus don't have an equivalent at similar money but abit do in the IP35 (which also adds firewire).
