Hi, it's my birthday on the 20th and i'm looking to upgrade from my old 22" HP monitor to something a little larger and generally more pleasing to the eye.

Only problem is i'm looking to pick up the monitor tomorrow from OCHQ and I can't decide at all which monitor to buy so i'm looking for a little advice as I don't have much experience when it comes down to the specs of monitors.

My Requirements;

• I'm looking to pay £350 at the very maximum
• Right now I have a single GTX 580, so it must be compatible
• It must be between 25"-30" as i'm looking for something bigger than my current setup
• 3D really isn't a priority for me so it doesn't have to have this feature, but if it does, it's not a problem
• This will be a single monitor setup, used daily for gaming/films and general usage
• I don't really mind about what kind of finish the screen has (Glossy/Matte) as i'm used to having the blinds closed in my room when i'm at my PC anyway
• On board speakers, I probably won't even use them, as long as i'm able to turn them off it won't be a problem if the monitor has them

Here's a link to the monitors that I have to choose from (up to the £350 mark) http://www.overclockers.co.uk/productlist.php?groupid=17&catid=1120&sortby=priceAsc

Any advice would be highly appreciated, just wish I sorted this sooner as like I said i'm looking to purchase the monitor tomorrow afternoon.

Thanks a lot in advance,

Jordan.

Well I think there's a few main points you need to decide on... What res you want and if you want 120hz.... If you want the lower res then you should really be aiming for 120hz IMO, not sure if you can get one in that price range though at that size... The benq is a fantastic monitor for the money although it's 24" but I'd take a good look at it if I was you....

Im similarly looking at 27's aswell at the moment.

This seems to be coming up in my list continuously

Although I have read some DP problems with these, I don't know how much to take with a pinch of salt.

120hz monitor so great for gaming, 1080p so some people may not agree with a resolution lower than 2560x1440 on a 27 but the best thing you can do is try and nip into a local seller who has a 27" up and running in 1080p so you can guage if you like the resolution or not.
