Morning!

After putting together my new pc yesterday, I then decided to get rid of a load of old software that I no longer use/need.

I used to have a Psion 5mx pda, which I no longer use. I uninstalled it via the add/remove jobbie.

It's left the 'MyPsion' icon on the desktop, and I can't delete the damn thing.

Anybody got any ideas? It's doing my head in!

XP - sp3.

If I try to drag it to the recycle bin, I get the 'no entry' thing (if that makes sense!)

Download Unlocker (google) and install that app. Then right-click the icon again, and you should have an Unlocker option in your menu. Click that, and see if you can remove it via Unlocker. :)

Mmm - tried that, with no success - right clicking still only brings up what I posted earlier.

The unlock option is shown on some of the other icons, so the app has installed ok.

Any other ideas?

MalwareBytes has a tab called More Tools, which then allows you to run FileAssassin. You just click the button, and tell it which file to unlock and permanently delete. Worth a go. :)

Ok - panic over - the 'unused icon' facility quite happily got rid of it :rolleyes:

I guess sometimes the simplest ideas are often the best.

Thanks for all the help :)
