As topic, how can I open my wine without a corkscrew?

I've seen the shoe method but I'm aprehensive to try it.

Help me out guys.

I've tried 2 options before. Either stab it with something sharp and try to gently pull it out. Or push the cork in, but that can make getting the wine out kind of messy. Best to try the second one over the kitchen sink

I seen the shoe thing on a episode of Modern Family, unsure if it will work though.

We put a knife in one drunk the other night, mate then decided it wasn't in far enough and smashed it in further resulting in a exploding bottle of wine! :)

Mushroomsoup, I can actually do that really well but surely it won't work with a non carbonated bottle of wine? Anyway, I have my tools! I'm going in.

Edit, there's no way that I can do it with a screw. Totally impossible. Going to try the shoe method.

Buy some dr pepper instead?

Pft. Crazy talk ;)

Power drill? Tap the cork first so you can get a screw in, then pliers as above & profit. In fact, on a decent torque setting you might be able to reverse drive the cork out - going to try that next time I have a bottle hehe.

Noob is me. I just remembered that I have a waiters friend in my cigar box. Thank's guys.

What we learnt today - The shoe method doesn't work & I'm too weak to do the screw method.
