Multiple interpretations are available in this post! :D

Yep - it’s a thing in my household.

“Are you hiding x from me again?!”

The main problem though is that she loves to tidy on the go, yet I have all of my stuff disorganisedly organised (aka leave it laying around). However, I always remember where I put things, so when it’s moved it screws with me.

The best example of this was my passport. I’d left it in the front room in a pile of paperwork to sort out, and then I came to look for it on the day we were flying and it had gone. Took me 2 hours to figure out where it had gone :P

It's always you.

Tidy up after yourself and communicate better with your significant other.

It's a you problem I'm afraid. 8 days to leave something somewhere drying? Should have been put away the next day. You checked all the places you should have tidied them up to but instead you left them at the kitchen sink which is her domain. You need to keep her areas tidy otherwise the washing up cannot be done in a timely manner.

It's called getting old.

I'm losing the odd thing now. Latest example is my webcam. When I'm not using it, it lives in a drawer underneath my monitor. It's not in said drawer now and I have checked that it hasn't dropped down the back etc. Nope. Nowhere to be seen.

Totally OP!

I tend to be more of a I will leave it there and as such its "stored" in my brain where it is.
If i am going to be using it again say tomorrow whats the harm!?

Then stuff moves and I am like, grrr, where has it gone this time.
Luckily I know most of the dumping places.
Even found some of her items when shes stressing about where they have gone.

I find as shes more fixated about being tidy rather than worrying about what shes moving thats what makes it illogical where she will have moved stuff.

I now give her some back. "You moved X, where did you put it?"
Her "hmm probably under the stairs"
Me : "ok just going to check the fridge, the bathroom cupboard and the garage"
Her "why?"
Me : "you have no idea where you put it do you"

Sometimes creates a few fireworks!

I think my other purposely moves things just to irritate me, worst of all she hides them in the proper storage space. How am I to find things if they are in the proper place?

Yep. My GF "tidies things up" all the time. She then refuses to acknowledge that she's moved anything when I can't find it. I even have a box on a shelf in the kitchen that she's supposed to tidy anything of mine into. Things have completely vanished over the years.

The worst one I can remember was when I was fitting an overhead cooker hood in the kitchen last summer. There were tools, dust, instructions, screws, bits all over the kitchen. She came in to use the microwave. Picked up two screws that were next to it and put them in a pot of other screws on a shelf above that were from something else. Then completely denied any knowledge of any screws or anything to do with it. It's entirely instinctive and excruciatingly annoying. She never, ever admits that she does it either.

Combine this with my partner being obsessive about nothing being out on the sides and everything having to be packed away and tidy and I can't leave anything anywhere for it to be there when I need it.

In my workshop or anywhere else I’m doing something, I don’t blame Herself as I will have just left X some strange whilst distracted by something shiny.

In the house, especially if I’ve just put something down on the kitchen table that I’ll want again shortly, The Magic Tidy Fairy will have put it where She thinks it should go in under 5 minutes.

The thing that gives me the raving arse is when She utters “Oh, if you’re going to Room X to get Thing Y, can you take Z/bring Z back with you? Don’t go empty handed!”

Apparently, “I wouldn’t need to ******* go to Room X if you could leave things where I put them for 5 ******* minutes!” isn’t the correct response.

Mine is also selectively observant to "mess"
If she decides to dump something its invisible, if I do the same its OMG move that NOOOOOOOW!

Shoes being a perfect example. If I leave my old slip on junk trainers by the back door after taking rubbish out, hell breaks loose.
If she dumps her trainers there after going for a run its fine.
