Can't format Caviar Black

Hi, I have 2 WD Caviar blacks, 1tb each, and I want to format the second one which has nothing really important on it. I'm running Windows 7, and each time I try to format it says "Windows was unable to complete the format". The drive has an old version of windows on it if that helps.

Assuming you meant 'unable' then go into Manage from My computer and select Disk management, find the physical disk, and recreate the partition. Then format.
