So I recently upgraded my old Dell S2716DG monitor to a new AW3225QF.

Previously the old monitor was working at 144hz with Gsync on my 3 previous GPUs over display port.

GTX 1080
RTX 3080
RTX 4080

Everything worked fine.

I have since moved the old Dell S2716DG to another pc and cant seem to enable neither Gsync nor 144hz.

I had a GTX 1030, and decided to get an RTX 3050 as I needed a little more power than the 1030 was providing.

However even with an RTX 3050 I cannot get Gysnc nor 144hz. It is stuck at 60hz.

The only difference is that I am using a bog standard hdmi cable as opposed to the display port cable I was using before.

Do you think this is the key reason I cant get Gysnc or 144hz?

The monitor only supports up to 60Hz via HDMI, you'll need to use DP for 144Hz. There's a matrix of what display modes are supported in the link below.

As above - I have that monitor and G-Sync + 144Hz is only supported on the DisplayPort connection which is a bit of a pain.
