As in title the maximum refresh rate available is only 30hz over HDMI and I'm using vista ultimate 32bit. When I try to update driver it says the best driver is already installed and its the generic plug and play monitor driver. TV is JVC LT-32DA8 which is hd ready 1080i and has no pc input just 2 HDMI ports.

hmm, was hoping you would not say that lol.

As you know all LCD's are by nature Progressive even a 1080i HDTV outputs to Progressive.

Whats your GPU ?.

1080i is an interlaced resolution, ergo it will be 25or 30hz. if you want 50/60hz you'll have to feed the tv with a progressive resolution, which in your case would be 576p or 720p.

Thx James, only 1280x720 seems to work,1360x768 still has 30hz max although tv supports it. Also screen does not fit properly @ 1280x720.

After some googling I found this in one thread:

"Most TVs don't accept non-HD resolutions via HDMI. The only way you can get full resolution is to use the VGA port. Otherwise you'll get 720 x 1280 scaled to 768 x 1360 which could be ugly".
