Made a similar thread below about how my new GPU causing some issues. Right now i'm just trying to get into bios.
https://www.overclockers.co.uk/foru...monitor-s-from-gpu-s-help-input-plz.18929446/

Currently computer skips splash screen and monitor only comes to life when windows in logging in. Pressing Del on boot gives no signal from monitor. Tried different monitors, cables, etc as stated in other thread.

I've tried holding Shift when restarting and selecting UEFI mode. No signal again and forced to turn off via power button.

If i switch to my old GPU, no issues with splash screen and BIOS.

Updated drivers yesterday, along with flashing MB to latest.

Any ideas? Thanks

Spec:
New monitor: Gigabyte G32QC
Old monitor: Samsung F390
New 2nd hand GPU: Asus Dual rx580 4gb
Old GPU: Gigabyte Windforce OC rx460 2gb (not direct PSU powered)
PSU: Seasonic Focus Gold 650w (probably 6 months old now)
Motherboard: MSI B550 Mortar Max
CPU: Ryzen 3600
Latest Radeon drivers, WIn 10, latest MB bios. Latest firmware on Gigabyte monitor.

(update) ...with some questions

After some digging I suspect this new 2nd hand GPU was used for mining. I've only got MSI Afterburner on my system atm so unsure how reliable that is. But it says the core clock is 1162mhz and mem at 2000mhz. Given the core clock is lower than my rx460 seems a little odd, and the stats fit with what people use for mining on the card.

I can't see a dual bios switch (unless i'm blind) on the card. Can't see anything in the manual, about well anything outside of installing a vga driver. I can't see anything online about the card having a dual bios. And i'm definitely not hunting down the original bios to flash from unofficial sources.

Stuck my old card in and changed to UEFI mode from CSM, and went through various settings but can't see anything else. Just guessing here really as i'm all out of ideas now.

(update)
So i ran a windows ram check just because why not, no screen showed up for this, but the computer was back on desktop by the time i made and ate my dinner. So no idea if it finished and rebooted or what.

(edit)
Just flashed the card in the end after taking it apart and matching up the correct bios, used the techpowerup website for a guide. Issues have now be resolved.

How are you connecting the monitor when this happens? HDMI? DVI? DisplayPort?

Either single or both monitors, in DP 1 or 2, or HDMI 1 or 2. (GPU has 2x of each). All variations tried sadly to no avail.

One monitor is HDMI x2 ports and DP x1. Other monitor is HDMI only.

Tried different HDMI cables. Only have the one DP cable which is brand new.

Hmm OK. I had an idea about it but it was linked to use of DP, if you already tried HDMI too then that's not the cause. I'm out of ideas sorry!

No problem. Was that a DP firmware update by any chance? My old GPU doesn't have DP which works fine, so a strange interaction is a small possibility, though i can't see anything in windows regarding it.

Got your KB plugged into a usb direct to the mobo through the I/O?

i.e. not a case usb port

This is a thing again. I was just in contact some days ago with MSI telling them of an issue with an Inno3D GTX 780 doing the same you describe on an MSI Z87 board. It does the same with an Asus Z97 actually.

Then I heard about Nvidia releasing a firmware update to solve this issue for 1.3 and 1.4 Display Port and various Nvidia cards (not for DP 1.2 nor for GTX 780 so no help for me there). I got in touch with Nvidia and told them I hoped they would release a further update covering 1.2 and 780s as I also had the same problem.

In my case, I can see and enter the BIOS with HDMI but not with Display port.

I can only uneducatedly guess some Windows update has affected certain systems? If anyone knows different, please enlighten me. I know this was a thing years ago (GTX 780s for example would not play well with some boards around at the time of release) but thought it had since been solved.

Tried, failed, cried.

Computer recognises the Del key being smashed regardless of where it's inserted, but going into BIOS just gives No Signal, i can only presume i'm in the BIOS though when smashing the Del as nothing else happens.

Strange. My rx460 is obviously older than the rx580, but doesn't have the issue.

After flashing the MB bios the other day all my settings are gone. Just cba to put the other card back in to sort out then reinstall. Now all my rear I/O USB devices stay on after power down -_-

Going by this discusion on reddit, it does indeed sound like you have a modded bios.

https://www.reddit.com/r/Amd/comments/75bqez/asus_dual_fan_rx_580_4gb_has_bios_been_modded/

Think these are some bios files you could try.

https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios...sion=&interface=&memType=&memSize=4096&since=

What makes you think the GPU has a bios switch?

Think the "Dual" just means 2 x fans.

In the end i decided to follow TPU's guide. One of the bios they had matched up with the card so used that. I didn't realise there was a program for installing the bios so it ended up being easy, thought it was going to be a pain to do, but was a 5min job. Cleaning the card and reapplying new paste was more time consuming, but i enjoy hands on stuff so that was job well done.

I've now got my splash screen back and bios can be entered normal and fine.

I wasn't sure if there was a bios switch or not, something i've never really looked at. There's 2x LEDs on the card which i'm not sure what they are for, i guess one is power, and the other is error.

Oh and performance wise the card was definitely gimped. Stalker now runs better and a quick few benches gives almost 20% increase.
