Keyboard is being detected, and crtl alt delete shuts it down, so it's definitely working so something is not letting me into the bios.

This is on my rog crosshair hero.

I've tried resetting the bios, and different cables and ports but still no luck.

I'm thinking I'll end up needing to buy a different keyboard at this rate.

Thanks

Edit - Seems with some rgb keyboards they don't fire up quick enough for the bios, but will still be detected on screen hmm

Guess I'll be buying me a basic keyboard then.

Can you not get into the BIOS through Windows rather than smashing the keys?

Which USB ports are you using?

Tried all usb ports both a and c with nothing else plugged in.

No windows on this, she's a fresh build.

Like I said above ctrl alt delete works fine, just won't F1 into bios.

Anyhoo I've ordered a cheap keyboard, so let's see what happens.

What exactly is happening? What screen does it get stuck at and is there any message?

You probably don't need to get into the BIOS initially, as if you plug into a USB with Windows installed it'll likely just start (if everything else is fine).

Create a new shortcut on desktop named
shutdown.exe /r /fw
Then can restart to the bios anytime without
Needing to open cmd and type a command

Can also do similar to reboot to
Safe mode,advanced startup options Etc
Though dont Remember what I named those shortcuts
But I find those all useful

It's a fresh build, no windows on the drive.
Try running windows set up
Then shift + f10 if keyboard is picked up
At that point
Then enter the above commands
To reboot to the bios

Could also try a windows Live usb/ PE
And reboot to bios from that
Cant remember if tried from a live usb/PE before
or not

Is there something you need to set
In the bios before installing windows?
If not would install windows first then create the
Boot to bios shortcut

I had this issue, there was a switch on the keyboard that allowed me to access bios.

Took me ages to figure this out.

As in it needed to be in that mode before I could smash del(f1?)

This keyboard in fairness is actually pretty good, seeing as it came from AliExpress I get wireless RF, bt and wired to choose from.

Very bizarre how it needed Fn it actually go into bios, you'd think they would have patched this somehow.
