Hi

Hoping someone would be able to help me with this - probably easy to fix but I'm baffled. :)

I can't get sound from my speakers, they worked fine with old set-up.

Got this system (Ultima Warlord) from OC a few weeks ago:

- AMD Phenom II X4 Quad Core 955 Black Edition 3.20GHz Overclocked to 3.80GHz!
- Gigabyte GA-MA790XT-UD4P (Socket AM3) PCI-Express DDR3 Motherboard
- Corsair XMS3 DHX 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 1600C9DHX
- Gelid Silent Spirit CPU Cooler CPU Cooler
- Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 500GB SATA-II 16MB Cache - OEM
- LG CH08LS10 8x Blu-Ray Reader/16x DVD±RW - Black
- Coolermaster Elite 335 Case - Black

Speakers are Creative Inspire T10. Screen is a NEC Multisync LCD 2690Wuxi. I've had both for over a year.

When I received the system I added 4 Hard Drives - 2 x 500Gb and 2 x 320Gb, one of the 320Gb drives has my OS (XP Pro) on it. I also added a fan.

Anyway, loaded and unloaded drivers several times but couldn't get any sound at all.

PC used mainly for processing Photos so sound isn't overly important but starting to miss it now. :D

I'd really appreciate anyone's help.

Overall - everything else is running fine apart from Adobe Bridge constantly crashing the system but I'll try and post that elsewhere on the forum.

did you do a fresh install of xp?

simply plugging a drive in with it on already is a bad idea, and generally won't work.

for a system like that, you'll want Windows 7 on it ideally

Hi Bledd

No, I didn't do a fresh install. :(

Yeah, I've been thinking about doing an upgrade to windows 7, hopefully in the near future.
