Before uploading files, I deleted all files and folders (except the URL.co.uk, gaxxxxxxxxxx, and logs folders). I then copied everything to the URL.co.uk folder.

After 10 minutes, nothing changed on www.URL.co.uk.

I then deleted all files and folders in the URL.co.uk folder, copied all files to the root folder - again, nothing after 10 minutes.

For the time being, I have placed all the files in the URL.co.uk folder. Right now, I am hitting a brick wall, and can't get the uploaded site to show.

Would appreciate help with this situation.

Text in yellow has deliberately been altered by myself, for the sake of privacy.

Where there any folders in url.co.uk that might have perhaps been a little useful?

html/site/website that sort of stuff? I'm not entirely sure how 1&1 work but that sounds like what I had.

Also, any error messages when you go to your url or just a blank page?

And.. Linux or windows hosting?

Edit: http://faq.1and1.com/ Have a read, might be handy.

Just uploaded the backup I've taken - but I didn't make a backup of the index.html in the root directory! :o:(

Not sure if the index.html does anything special or not.

When an HTTP client (generally a web browser) requests a URL that points to a directory structure instead of an actual web page within the directory, the web server will generally serve a general page, which is often referred to as a main or "index" page.

Slightly OT.. Is the text in your sig still yellow? :o

Did you register the domain today?

I assume name servers are all spiffy?

It took a few hours for my .com domain to even show in my user account for GoDaddy earlier.

Sorry I can't be of much help, i'm just venturing into all this myself too. :o

Don't worry about it, I can't even edit HTML very well - I gave up hand coding. :o

To my knowledge the domain was registered earlier this week. It held a webpage before I went on a deleting session, and now it's buggered. :o:(
