cant get win 7 going from another system going :(

just made a new system, got lunix mint running on my hard drive 1,

ive got another hard drive from a laptop, ive just tryed to plug it in and run win 7 on my new system but the hard rive wasnt recognised by my motherboard for some reason is there anyway i could get this drive working as well

The likelihood of shoving an OS disk from one completely different machine into another, and it working without (at bare minimum) a re-install of the storage drivers, and it working from the off, is quite frankly, low.

also, you'll probably have to tell your bios which drive to boot from. on my board, you press F12 to get this choice. yours might be different.

is the drive showing up in the BIOS? If so, set it to first boot as marc2003 has said.

There is a good chance that Windows 7 should boot up as it has a large driver base. But to be honest, a Re-install would be my advice to give you a clean system.
