Can't increase Monitor Res

So i'm rocking a GTX 260 and for a long time two monitors. I had a 22inch monitor and still have a 42inch HD tv that functions as a monitor. Now I recently swapped my 22inch monitor for a 32inc HD tv and for some reason I can't increase my resolution beyond 1360x768.

I know for a fact my Graphics driver is updated and can support much higher resolution.

Any idea what I can do to change this?

What is the max res for the 32"?

1360x768. So is it impossible to go further? On my 42inch it's a lot higher.

Yor 42" is probably a 1080p set. On the 32", your stuck at 1360x768.

Are you extending or mirroring the displays?

If the max res is 1360x768, then your stuck. The 42" will go higher as it's a bigger screen.

Fair enough. Thanks all the help guys. I am extending. My 42inch is the extension and my 32inch the main.

It just seems strange though. My monitor was only 22inch but it could go up to 1680x1050.

Monitors are far superior to televisions resolution wise, because the manufacturers expect you to sit closer to a monitor so you need a higher resolution to see more detail.
