Hi all,

just bought a seagate barra 7200 250gb from overclockers and Im starting a afresh, so i boot from CD

windows finds the drive and allows me to format it on NTFS, after this is 100% i get this error..

setup has determinded that drive C: is corrupted and cannot be repaired

I have submitted a support ticket to return the disc, but I would rather not need to return it and just get advice on how to fix the drive.

I googled the error which i found this http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315679

but what is this drive overlay and how do i put it back on the drive when it will be the main drive windows is installed on.

googled further and relased i needed seage discwizard, created a boot cd and used "add disc" and formatted it with segate discwizard.

all is working fine now.

didnt realise that windows format removed the seagate drive overlay.

windows is now installing w00t w00t
