Can't install XP?!

Right, i've got a SATA Samsung Spinpoint 120GB.

I've installed it, in an IDE port with one of those converters as I don't have a floppy drive for the SATA drivers.

It is picked up in the BIOS and set as primary.

I insert my XP disk to install XP and it picks up the hard drive fine.

Cycle through the license info etc to install and it says the drive needs files wrote to it so XP can be installed.

It takes me to the partion options but when I try and create a partion it just goes back to screen to install XP on the hard drive.

If I try and install XP from there it just gives me the message that the files need to be wrote to the disk in order for XP to go ahead and install.

Any ideas? Been trying to sort it all day and no bloody luck.

Thanks.

Nope, i've always had to install SATA drivers mate. If I go to install XP, it will come up with no harddrive found until I go to install extra drivers and then get it off the floppy.

Same for my other systems, thats why I use the IDE converters because I can't be bothered messing around.
