Got a handful of drives that i want to run as a single volume on a P5B deluxe.

If i turn the raid on, the machine stops booting (gets 20 seconds into the loading screen then resets to post)
If i try and load the drivers with the raid turned off the drivers won't install because their is no raid for them to control! (this machine does not meet the minimum specs for this software, etc)

Do i have to do a complete new install in order to get raid working?

OS is 7 premium.

When you turn on RAID mode on the P5B Deluxe, all 6 SATA ports become RAID. Since Windows wont have the drivers installed, it falls over.

To get around this I plugged in my Windows drive into the JMicron SATA port, which should be on its own just above one of the PCI-E slots. That way i could keep it as IDE/AHCI and turn on RAID for the Intel controller.

Raid is awesome, took just over 5 hours to get everything off the drives, estimate is just under 1 hour to put it all back on! :D

If we had a rep button i'd rep you (but we don't because everybody would give Fox grief ;))
