I have a few .rtf files that I created on my Mac and saved to my dropbox account. I had been using them fine on both OSX and W7/XP (bootcamp) with no prolblems for weeks.

I havnt opened them for about 2 weeks, and i now find that when on OSX i cant see any of the RTF files in the dropbox folder, but in windows i can see them but they all have "._" before the file name.
When i try opening them in word/notepad it either says it doesnt recognise the format or (for word) gives me the option to choose the text encoding i want , but all of them just show some garbled text/shapes.

Any ideas how I can make these readable again? :(

Files like that are hidden files and by default hidden files can't be shown on OS X. Those files always get put all over the place and you will see them on Windows. Do you not have the normal files anywhere? I think you may have misplaced them by mistake.

Thanks Justin, your right I had misplaced them when I had a sort out about a week ago. Got the original files now and they work fine :o

oops :P
