I've recently setup a wireless network which all works fine, internet is great but i cant connect/ping other computers in my workgroup.

I had a little google and couldnt find much useful info, anyone got any ideas?

Router Netgear MR814

Downstairs pc is wired straight in to the router, i've got 2 pc's up here, one with a DWL-520 pci card which gets the internet fine and can ping the router, the other pc has a usb MA111 usb adapter which gets the internet and can ping the router.

But the pc's cant see each other?

If you have used Windows network Wizard the Main PC will be setup as 192.168.0.1 / 255.255.255.0 (No DNS assigned as you dont have a Domain).

Ensure the other PC's you are trying to connect dont automatically assign an IP, assign the IP yourself in properties.
Depending on equipment on thhe network reserve the first .10 address's for Printers,Fax's and Mobile devices... Start from 192.168.0.10 and go up.

The Second device on the network - Set its IP to 192.168.0.10 and the third to 192.168.0.11 etc

the ip's are assigned by DHCP mapped to the MAC address.

downstairs
192.168.0.1 = Hillside (router)
192.168.0.2 = Chriseh
upstairs
192.168.0.3 = Cerebellum
192.168.0.4 = mase

Seems to have sorted itself out, i reckon its the adapter, dont get the USB MA111... its poor!
