I'm posting this on behalf of a friend who has just bought a new X99 motherboard and DDR4 quad channel kit. The specifics are:
Motherboard: Asus x99-S
CPU: 5820K
Ram: Corsair Vengeance 16GB (4x4GB) DDR4 PC4-21300C16
For some reason the motherboard's bios cannot read the SPD table from one stick of ram, not the make, model, or XMP profiles etc. Other tools can't appear to read it either.
He's tried the stick alone and in different slots on the board. He's confirmed the voltage it's running at is 1.2 volts. He's updated the board's BIOS to the latest version.
Does anyone know why an SPD would be missing, does this mean the ram is faulty.

Edit: Fixed the image.
