Cant remember my dates name! Help please!

My uncle told me that when he worked as a financial assistant he would often forget peoples names when he would talk to them. His trick was to ask them how to spell it. One day a very angry man said 'S-M-I-T-H like every other smith in the world!' apparently he then slammed the phone down and they never heard from him again.

Delete her number from your phone and say it got accidentally deleted. Pass her the phone and ask for her to put it back in whilst you get the drinks. ;)
 
If she doesn't put the name in your phone herself definitely go for 'how do you spell it'. If it turns out it's an obvious name, be quick on your feet with "well I knew someone who spelt it ____", so have your wits about you :D

no she not told me her last name. i am sooooooooo nervous about this one though, been dating some girls for 2 weeks and so far no joy, but i wasnt this nervous with them, hope i dont mess it up! i am off now to go pick her up and have a nice meal at a pub/restaurant, i will post back in hee in about 2 hours to let you know how it went :D

Great idea! I'd say "What's your name?" though as saying sorry sounds like you forgot!

call her "miss (second name)"
 
You could just call her and say "Hey, who's this? My mobile has done a LMAO ROFL and deleted all of the names :S". That's what I'd do. Also it's another excuse to call her ;)

Explain that you've forgotten her name despite being quite enthusiastic about the date. Its quicker than any other shenanigans and while it might raise her eyebrows the discomfort would be 10x worse if you were caught out being sly
